When you don't have time to prepare
You can't add prep. You can settle the body.
About
An extended-exhale breath for the moments before you have to perform without enough prep. It won't change the content — it changes how your body shows up to deliver it.
Five minutes before you walk in and you're underprepared. Asked to present on the spot. The slide deck isn't done. Anywhere the prep gap is fixed and the only remaining variable is your physiology.
2 minutes (10 cycles). Anything less than 60 seconds still helps.
Adrenaline doesn't fully disappear — it dampens. The voice tends to land lower. Working memory clears slightly because the body isn't burning bandwidth on threat signals. You'll still feel exposed; you'll be more available to your own thoughts.
Underprepared performance fails most often because anxious arousal hijacks working memory and motor control, not because the content is missing. Extended exhales reduce sympathetic drive in roughly two minutes — long enough to recover the bandwidth that anxiety was eating.
